At JILL STUART I found this frock to be quite adorable, it’s simple, romantic, yet dramatic. I don't know, it just has a fairy tale element to it, and every girl wants to be a princess; a modern day one that is. Now, ALTAZURRA spoke to me, since I am a sucker for 70s goddess look. His collection was a nice break from the 80s, very relaxed and earthy yet glam.
11111111 DDDDDFFFFPANNA SUI.....................................................-.BCBG BY MAX AZRIA
ANNA SUI was impressive! The feel was prep girl turns to psychedelics and joins a circus. The prints and color combinations were so full of life, that you are just immediately drawn to it. At BCBG, there was a lot of bodycon, bright colors, a little mesh, and prints = a lot of clubbing outfits; but hey, a girls gotta go out on the town and look stylish while she's at it! This dress is sexy, it’s fun, and I’d wear it!
MARC BY MARC JACOBS
MARC JACOBS, there’s a reason for his mega stardom status, he is plain and simple a fashion genius; it's like his creativity flow never stops. This season, he went in a completely different direction, very contrasting from his previous fall collection which was harsher and predominantly dark. (Just as amazing) The collection felt theatrical, dreamy, very Edwardian, and evoked lots of drama! The pieces were beautifully detailed, with ruffles (makes me so happy) scalloped sequins, and pearls. I adore the ruffled pink shorts, I'm also a big fan of the delicate sheer legging, and my must have-item is that navy ruffled blazer!!!!!! God, I need in my life, NOW! I don't care I'll wear it any season!
MARC BY MARC JACOBS
And more MARC! Of the latest collections, this was his most vibrant one. I thought it was soo fun, the styling was on point—very cool with the bunny ear bows, and it was a very young, and flirty. The pink and orange dress definitely my fave! It brought me back to my childhood, I used to decorate everything with orange and pink and ever since loved the color combination, but kept it kinda secret because I knew it wasn't very fashionable, but leave it to Marc to make it all that chic! (Note: other designers tried but It didn't work like at House of Holland)
DVF........................................................................0000000... CAROLINA HERRERA
At the DVF show it was a fabulous continuation of the nomad theme, it had the luxury air yet free spirited feel that Diane Von Furstenberg is known for creating. The tribal inspired looks fit right into spring perfectly. The first look, with the printed dress, embroided see-through vest is the epitome of boho-glam! Rich, bright yellow is one of my colors of choice as the weather gets warmer, and this version of summery yellow dress is to die-for, period. Love the draping, the richness of the color, and the playing of the length. Also, bonus points for styling it with a necklace that has specks of turquoise. (I have an obsessesion with turquoise and yellow color combination). Let’s move on to CAROLINA HERRERA, what a beautiful show, as usual! Conservative, although this time it felt younger and more relevant. The satin jumpsuit is an example of glamour at its finest.
ALEXANDER WANG had a great take on his theme of American sportswear, I could see the football inspiration, in particular I loved his play on the leatherheads--yes I am not ready to give up my leather quite yet, but I really like the idea of lighting it up for fall. The motorcycle jacket is off course one of his signature looks, and he did it again, and I'm liking it! (Think blue croc and leather craze). Wang's approach on the new American basics has that wanted edge with ease. At CHARLOTTE RONSON I found the collection to be quite lovely, it had the downtown vibe with some sophistication. Her clothes are very much in sync with what young women want to wear… The collection had a lot of those ruched sheer tights? I don’t exactly know what they are, I’ve seen them a lot in Spring collections; i need some! I call them ruched Spanxs, as a joke, but really Spanx should capitalize on this trend, cause then if they accidentally show, they won't longer be a fashion no-no.
ZAC POSEN..........................................................GGGGGG GGGOSCAR DE LA RENTA
ZAC'S collection was very entertaining! He worked with prints magnificently, and used these pop art brooches in his designs that were the perfect addition; it made the clothes fun. The one-shoulder black dress is amazing; it's not just another black dress! That cut-out is divine! OSCAR DE LA RENTA had the usual beautifully crafted dresses, and this time it included a lot a separates. That safari cropped jacket is so chic! Safari looks when done right, always win my heart.
MICHAEL KORS--------------------------------GG GGGG - GGGDEREK LAM---------- TORY BURCH
MICHAEL KORS, I admire the fact that his clothes always take you to a trip somewhere luxe and relaxing, some jet set location where you can live it up or relax by the beach. Love the icy cool colors that with sun glowing skin create that an eye-catching contrast! The silhouettes were very architectural and impacting, and had a mod reference. The hot pant suite at DEREM LAM caught my eye, the blazer is perfect, sailor look: approved. Lastly, TORY BURCH was full of wearable clothes like the outfit pictured above, which is exactly the kind of outfit I like to wear why running errand around town, chic, casual, but luxed up and fashionable.
